Days of the Lockdown
MONDAY
Reading quotes on Monday Morning Motivation
Because I’ve been on an overdose of procrastination
The virus has put my brain in a ‘lockdown’ situation
Something bigger than this will kill us, we need to take action
Thinking of the street boys who point guns without hesitation
All to get some bucks for hunger satisfaction.
TUESDAY
New lockdown laws enacted
Less interaction and movement
More devastation and complaint
Hopefully, in 2weeks it’ll end
And we can return to how we were
Though we thought the same when this all started…
WEDNESDAY
Should I blame it on the boredom
Or am I just someone to fall
From the grace that held me up
When I had my back against the wall
I’ve been given second chances and more
And every second time, I get worse.
THURSDAY
What’s that I hear?
The virus would soon disappear?
And we can resume the school year?
I’m supposed to be happy, why do I fear?
Maybe because of tedious work and awkward stares
That I forgot and when I got used to the cool calm air…
FRIDAY
A new month’s finally here
Although not with it’s usual cheer
But we are grateful and await what’s near
Our freedom and redemption from this dark lair
We’ve learnt our lesson and it’s only fair
That we smile again and hold close, our loved ones dear
